Information Technology Business Analyst

Title: IT Business AnalystType: PermanentLocation: Galway — Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)I am looking for an IT Business Analyst to support the delivery of technically focused technology initiatives across infrastructure, systems and IT change. This is a hands-on business analysis and project delivery role, suited to someone who can bridge the gap between business requirements and technical teams.

You will be responsible for understanding business needs, gathering and documenting requirements, analysing current processes and systems, and supporting the delivery of IT projects from initiation through to implementation.

The role would suit an experienced IT Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst or Junior/Mid-Level IT Project Manager looking to develop further across both business analysis and project delivery.THIS IS A PERMANENT ROLE BASED IN GALWAY

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, objectives and pain points.
• Gather, analyse and document business and technical requirements.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional and technical deliverables.
• Map current and future-state processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support IT projects across system implementations, upgrades, migrations and infrastructure change.
• Coordinate project activities, timelines, dependencies and deliverables.
• Work closely with technical teams, clients and stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and delivered.
• Support UAT planning, test scenarios, issue management and implementation activities.
• Assist with project governance, including status reporting, RAID logs, actions and stakeholder updates.
• Conduct IT assessments, gap analysis and support risk management activities.
• Contribute to IT risk, operational resilience and regulatory-related initiatives.
• Support project managers and technical teams through the full project lifecycle, from requirements through to implementation and handover.

What We're Looking For

• 2–5 years' experience in IT Business Analysis, IT project delivery or a combination of both.
• Strong experience gathering, analysing and documenting IT/business requirements.
• Experience working with technical teams across infrastructure, systems, applications or technology change.
• Good understanding of IT environments and how technology solutions support business processes.
• Experience supporting or delivering projects involving implementations, upgrades, migrations or infrastructure change.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work between business and technical teams.
