• Corporate Accountant
• This position requires corporate, property and financial accounting skills and the ability to reconcile and consolidate multiple entity records.
• The Corporate Accountant is responsible for the financial reporting of two corporate entities: Mid
• Pen Property Management Corporation and Mid
• Pen Resident Services Corporation in compliance with US GAAP and Mid
• Pen Policy and Procedures.
• This person will also ensure Mid
• Pen Housing and its affiliates have strong financial controls and accurate accounting information.
• The Corporate Accountant monitors the financial performance of corporate entities and informs appropriate parties of critical issues as soon as possible.
• The Corporate Accountant reports to the Corporate Assistant Accounting Manager and will work closely with Accounting, Property Management, Asset Management, Services, Information Technology, Auditors, Investors, Partners, banking relations and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for analyzing and interpreting financial information as well as accurately compiling and reporting this information for Mid
• Pen Property Management and Mid
• Pen Resident Services Corporations
• Prepare account reconciliation, analysis and journal entries and perform on-going analytical review in support of the monthly, quarterly and annual close process
• Maintain and understand documentation related to various inter-entity billings to calculate, invoice and record earned fee revenue and receivables.
• Work closely with Mid
• Pen staff to account for restricted funds and expense activities in a timely manner
• Perform allocation of expenses to other entities and request reimbursement from those entities on a timely basis
• Prepare monthly and special management reports as requested Maintain, establish and improve documentation relating to internal accounting controls
• Prepare annual audit schedules and interact with auditors to complete the audit, and tax returns
• Monitor adherence to audit requirements and ensure full compliance in accordance with regulatory agencies
• Serve as a financial resource, answer questions and provide ad-hoc financial support as requested
• Develop recommendations for effective and efficient business processes and participate in cross-functional projects
• Actively participate in meetings to communicate and share accounting, internal controls and analysis information
• Provide back-up support to other accountants as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA is a plusMust possess a strong understanding of GAAP principlesThree years of experience in accounting and financial analysis or equivalent.
