Position Overview

ELA Americas Accounting Division of Envela is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This role is ideal for a technically strong accounting professional with a foundation in public accounting and hands-on experience supporting SOX 404(a) and 404(b) compliance.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for traditional corporate accounting functions, including month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and balance sheet management, while also playing an important role in maintaining strong internal controls and supporting the company’s audit and compliance requirements.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting knowledge with a detail-oriented, process-driven mindset and the ability to work effectively with both internal leadership and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post complex journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and other month-end accounting adjustments.
• Perform timely and accurate balance sheet and account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring deadlines and reporting requirements are met.
• Analyze financial results, account activity, and variances to identify trends, inaccuracies, and areas requiring attention.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reporting.
• Support the annual external audit process and serve as a key point of contact for audit requests and supporting documentation.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls in compliance with SOX 404(a) requirements.
• Partner with internal and external auditors to support SOX 404(b) audits, including walkthroughs, control testing, documentation, and remediation efforts.
• Assist with documenting, evaluating, and improving accounting processes and key business controls.
• Research and apply U.S. GAAP to accounting transactions and operational issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, IT, and other departments to resolve accounting issues and strengthen financial processes.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting team members as needed.
• Participate in special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Accounting strongly preferred.
• 3–6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in public accounting.
• CPA or CPA track preferred.
• Previous experience with SOX 404(a) and/or 404(b) compliance, internal controls, and external audit requirements required.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and audit support.
• Prior experience working in a publicly traded company or SEC-regulated environment is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external auditors.
