Position Overview
We are seeking a Junior Cabinet Maker / Custom Fabricator to join our growing team.
We are looking for someone with experience in a highly customized fabrication environment who enjoys building unique projects rather than repetitive production work.
The successful candidate will assist with the fabrication of custom millwork, cabinetry, furniture, architectural features, hospitality environments, and specialty installations while maintaining the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble custom cabinetry, millwork, furniture, and specialty projects
- Read and interpret shop drawings, specifications, and production plans
- Operate woodworking machinery, power tools, and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Assist with custom paint preparation, finishing, staining, and touch-up work
- Prepare materials for fabrication and assembly
- Participate in prototype development and custom builds
- Maintain quality control standards throughout fabrication
- Support installation preparation, packaging, and site work when required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Collaborate effectively with designers, project managers, and fabrication staff
Required Qualifications
- 1 to 3+ years of experience in a custom cabinet making, millwork, furniture making, or fabrication shop
- Experience building custom cabinetry and furniture from drawings and specifications
- Experience with custom finishing, painting, staining, and surface preparation
- Strong woodworking and carpentry skills
- Experience using woodworking machinery and fabrication equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hospitality, restaurant, nightclub, retail, architectural, or experiential fabrication projects
- Experience working with mixed materials, including wood, laminates, acrylics, metals, and specialty finishes
- Installation experience
- Familiarity with CNC-produced components and custom fabrication processes
