- Welding Manager / Welding Program Lead

- Overview
- An international engineering and infrastructure organization is seeking an experienced Welding Manager / Welding Program Lead to support a major industrial refurbishment project in Ontario, Canada.
This position will play a critical role in managing welding operations, welding engineering activities, QA/QC compliance, and field implementation across complex construction and maintenance activities within a highly regulated environment.
Candidates with Nuclear experience are strongly preferred; however, professionals from Offshore, Marine, Shipbuilding, Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Heavy Fabrication, or EPC projects are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate welding engineering and technical welding teams
- Manage welding procedures, qualifications, WPS/PQR documentation, and compliance
- Ensure implementation of welding QA programs and industry standards
- Support field execution and troubleshooting of welding activities
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, QA/QC, and project teams
- Review RFQs, technical specifications, codes, standards, and fabrication drawings
- Oversee weld consumables, welding processes, and specialized tooling
- Maintain welding records, certifications, and qualification continuity
- Participate in technical reviews and multidisciplinary problem-solving activities
- Promote continuous improvement and implementation of operational best practices
Requirements
- Experience within Nuclear, Offshore, Marine, Oil & Gas, Heavy Industrial, or EPC environments
- Strong knowledge of ASME, CSA, AWS, API, or equivalent welding codes and standards
- Experience managing welding programs within complex industrial projects
- Knowledge of metallurgy, fabrication, and welding inspection methods
- Familiarity with QA/QC processes and regulated environments
- Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure project environments
