We are looking for a caring and reliable Pet Grooming Assistant to join our team at Peaches Pet. This role is ideal for someone with prior pet handling experience who is eager to support our professional groomers and grow their career in the grooming industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist groomers with bathing, blow-drying, brushing, nail trimming, and preparation for full grooming.
- Safely and confidently handle pets, including those that may be anxious, senior, or excitable.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic grooming environment, including disinfecting tools and equipment.
- Provide attentive care to pets to ensure their comfort and safety throughout the grooming process.
- Support daily salon operations such as preparing pets for appointments and post-groom clean-up.
Requirements
- Able to work weekends and public holidays
- No allergies to animals, their food, or supplies
- Previous experience handling pets (in grooming, boarding, daycare, or similar settings).
- Confidence in working with pets of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions from senior groomers.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for animals.
- Physically able to handle active pets and stand for extended periods.
Working Hours
- Full-time position
- Working hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Two rest days per week (Sundays not included)
- Schedule will be arranged according to salon operations
