Lead – IT Procurement & Contract ManagementLocation: Bangalore Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end sourcing lifecycle for technology vendors - from market engagement and RFP/RFI design through supplier evaluation, commercial modelling, and contract award
- Own competitive sourcing events for large-scale technology services engagements, managing tender structure, evaluation frameworks, and negotiations through to award
- Drive renegotiation of existing technology contracts across the supplier base, targeting commercial optimization and improved contractual terms
- Lead all material IT contract negotiations across managed services, staffing, SaaS, cloud, and professional services categories
- Drive the transition from input-based to outcome-based and fixed-scope pricing models across the supplier portfolio
- Own the full contract lifecycle: drafting, redlining, approvals, execution, obligation tracking, and renewal or exit management
- Partner with Legal, Finance, and Risk to ensure contracts adequately address IP ownership, data protection, SLA governance, audit rights, and exit provisions
- Maintain a live contract register and proactively flag upcoming renewals, break clauses, and renegotiation opportunities to Technology leadership
- Establish and operate vendor and contract governance processes within the Technology function — including policies, approval workflows, and performance management frameworks
- Define and track supplier KPIs and SLAs; lead regular governance reviews with key partners and produce periodic reporting for senior Technology leadership
- Build and maintain a proprietary benchmarking capability covering IT vendor pricing, rate cards, and market norms across key technology categories
- Conduct independent vendor assessments covering capability, financial health, strategic roadmap, and competitive positioning to inform sourcing and renegotiation decisions
- Develop should-cost models for major procurement events, providing Technology leadership a data-driven negotiation baseline
- Track market trends in IT delivery and commercial models and provide proactive advisory to senior stakeholders — reducing dependence on external analyst firms
- Act as the primary commercial interface between the Technology function and Finance, Legal, Risk, and Audit on all supplier and contract matters
- Support Technology leadership in preparing vendor strategy materials, savings tracking, and executive-level procurement reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field;
- MBA or postgraduate qualification preferred10–15 years of progressive experience in IT procurement, commercial contract management, or technology vendor management within a large enterprise environment
- Proven track record of driving quantifiable commercial savings through contract renegotiation, vendor consolidation, or competitive sourcing
- Deep expertise in IT contract structures across managed services, staffing, SaaS, cloud, and professional services agreements
- Experience designing and executing structured RFP/RFI processes for large-scale technology services engagements
- Strong working knowledge of contract mechanics: SLA frameworks, outcome-based pricing models, IP and data protection clauses, and exit and step-in rights
- Demonstrated ability to build commercial benchmarks, rate-card analyses, and should-cost models independently, without reliance on external advisors
- Experience establishing vendor governance frameworks and managing supplier performance at an enterprise scale
- Strong stakeholder management skills — proven ability to advise and influence senior technology leaders, Finance, and Legal counterparts
- Experience in financial services, insurance, or a highly regulated industry preferred
- Familiarity with global delivery model economics — offshore, nearshore, and onshore cost structures and pricing benchmarks
