Role Description The Assistant Manager (Merchandising) – The Grove at Farmers Market is a full-time, on-site role based in Los Angeles, CA. This role supports the creation and execution of compelling in-store product presentations that reflect Banana Republic brand standards and seasonal direction.

The Assistant Manager partners with store leadership to plan floor sets, manage product placement, and ensure that key items, collections, and assortments are presented to maximize sales and guest engagement. Daily responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels on the sales floor, coordinating replenishment, and adjusting visual merchandising based on selling trends and store traffic patterns.

The role also involves coaching and guiding the store team on merchandising priorities, product knowledge, and visual standards while fostering a customer-focused culture. The Assistant Manager collaborates closely with cross-functional partners to support promotional events, maintains a clean and organized selling environment, and contributes to achieving store sales and profitability goals.

Qualifications

• Strong Communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey merchandising direction, provide feedback, and collaborate effectively with store leadership and team members.
• Proven Customer Service experience, with a focus on creating a welcoming in-store environment and ensuring a high-quality guest experience.
• Demonstrated Sales skills, including understanding of key performance indicators, ability to drive results through merchandising, and experience supporting sales initiatives.
• Hands-on Inventory Management and Assortment skills, including monitoring stock levels, coordinating replenishment, and optimizing product placement to align with demand and brand standards.
• Previous retail merchandising or assistant management experience, ideally in apparel or fashion.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop diverse teams in a fast-paced, physically active environment.
• Strong attention to detail, visual merchandising acumen, and comfort working with store technology and reporting tools.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
