- Purpose
- The Visual Merchandising Team Leader is responsible for managing the operational aspects of visual merchandising team, and for planning and organizing store displays to drive business and increase sales.
- The role works along with the Visual Merchandising Manager and relevant business partners to develop and implement the ongoing visual merchandising strategy
- Key Accountabilities
- Operational
- Utilize visual merchandising techniques to secure optimal range presentation and increase commerciality of displays in line with brand
- guidelines, presentation standards and instruction.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on VM operations progress of self and teams against deadlines, milestones and KPI's.
- Works collaboratively with other Team leaders to ensure department resources are managed efficiently and department objectives are achieved
- Supports Marketing Department with sourcing of visual materials, monitors and maintains the budget and negotiates with suppliers.
- Controls costs and avoids unnecessary waste of resources in line with department or project budgets.
- Keeps up-to-date on competitors and market trends with regular retail visits and utilizes this to identify opportunities and make suggestions for better practices, to Management, Brand Marketing and/or Marketing Department
- Prepares the visual merchandising calendar taking into consideration availability of people and equipment.
- Make adjustments to original plans when circumstances change, or projects are not proceeding as desired, with consent of management.
- Liaises with other departments within the organization (e.g. Brand Management, Marketing) in order to ensure work is executed in line with expectations
- Lead the team work briefing in conjunction with the VM Manager ensuring that the team are updated on activities and changes.
- Lead the operations of the Visual merchandising teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and in accordance with guidelines
- Acts as the point of contact for ensuring resources are available to support projects and department objectives
- Assist the Visual merchandising team as and when required, in projects or activities that are planned for the store
- People Management
- Provides the team with clear direction and ensures individuals understand what is expected of them
- Ensure all visual merchandisers have received the necessary training to competently perform safely and securely in their roles
- Delegates work appropriately to teams (taking into account abilities and resources available).
- Participate in building a diverse and competent team of individuals.
- Ensures visual merchandising teams work maintains a professional, high quality standard at a very detailed level and takes actions to remedy deviations from expected standards.
- Ensures the workplace environment is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness and is in compliance with Company standards at all times
- Manages and facilitates the resolution of conflict within the teams
- Defines and communicates standards of behavior and work; takes action when individuals fail to meet expected standards.
- Provides others with clear feedback on their performance on a regular basis and provides coaching, expert advice and other appropriate support where required.
Job requirement and job knowledge: * Valid UAE driving license * Strong understanding of legal, health and safety regulations and processes * Flexibility to work on Retail schedule including working late nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays when required * Flexibility to travel within GCC if needed * Bachelor Degree or equivalent * 5-8 years job related experience * Retail industry experience * 3-5 years of VM experience * 1 year minimum in a supervisory or management role
