Overview
We are hiring for our client, a leading organization within the insurance and reinsurance sector, seeking an accomplished Vice President – Reinsurance Actuary to join their growing team in Dubai.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping reinsurance solutions, influencing portfolio strategy, and delivering data-driven insights that support complex business decisions across regional and international markets.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders to support portfolio strategy, business growth, and reinsurance decision-making.
- Perform actuarial and portfolio analyses across general insurance portfolios, including pricing adequacy, volatility assessments, retention optimization, and reinsurance structuring.
- Develop, validate, and interpret actuarial models, loss projections, stress testing scenarios, and portfolio performance metrics.
- Support the design and optimization of proportional and non-proportional reinsurance structures, including quota share, excess of loss, and hybrid arrangements.
- Translate complex technical analyses into clear commercial insights and strategic recommendations for clients and business leaders.
- Collaborate on client presentations, renewal negotiations, placement strategies, and market-facing initiatives.
- Review methodologies, challenge assumptions, and ensure analytical outputs meet governance, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to the development of actuarial frameworks, analytical tools, and process improvement initiatives.
- Support business development efforts through technical expertise, market insights, and client engagement activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, reinsurers, and regional stakeholders.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Qualified or Near-Qualified Actuary (FIA, FIAI, FCAS, or equivalent).
- Minimum 8+ years of actuarial, reinsurance analytics, or portfolio management experience.
- Strong understanding of actuarial principles, portfolio analytics, reinsurance pricing methodologies, and treaty structures.
- Proven experience assessing risk, validating analytical outputs, and delivering commercially relevant recommendations.
- Strong knowledge of proportional and non-proportional reinsurance solutions.
- Experience within a reinsurance broker, reinsurer, or insurance company environment is highly preferred.
- Exposure to client-facing engagements, renewal strategies, and reinsurance placement activities.
- Proficiency in actuarial and analytical tools such as R, Python, SQL, Alteryx, Power BI, or similar platforms is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong commercial acumen combined with exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
