- About the Team and the Role
- The Corporate Finance & Accounts team at Ather is responsible for overseeing and managing all financial aspects of the manufacturing operations within the organization, ensuring financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and cost control align with manufacturing goals.
This role is for a highly experienced and dynamic Manufacturing Finance Lead who acts as a bridge between the finance department and manufacturing units. The lead provides data-driven insights to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and improve profitability, specifically supporting Greenfield/Brownfield projects and plant-level financial controls.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage manufacturing budgets, forecasting production costs, working capital, and cash flows while ensuring strict budget adherence.
- Lead financial feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and risk assessments for manufacturing projects to provide strategic recommendations.
- Analyze manufacturing costs (labor, materials, overhead) and identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
- Monitor standard costing and variance analysis while establishing and tracking financial KPIs for manufacturing performance.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Coordinate internal and external audits focused on manufacturing finance and manage financial risks and mitigation strategies.
- Partner with operations, supply chain, procurement, and engineering to align financial objectives and support capital expenditure planning.
- Implement and maintain manufacturing finance systems and lead initiatives to automate financial reporting and data integration.

Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA)
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in finance roles, with at least 3 years specifically in a manufacturing plant
- Must Have
Competencies
- Advanced expertise in financial modeling, project finance, and capital expenditure (CAPEX) projections.
- Comprehensive proficiency in managing manufacturing budgets, cost control, and standard costing variance analysis.
- High proficiency in utilizing ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle to manage large-scale manufacturing financial data.
- Mastery of advanced Excel for complex data analysis and automated financial reporting.

Competencies
- Demonstrated experience in managing financial operations specifically within the automotive or 2-wheeler manufacturing sector.
- Expertise in managing Greenfield or Brownfield project financial implementations and plant-level process controls.
- Proficiency in inventory valuation methods and strategies to minimize obsolescence and excess stock.
- Ability to integrate production data with financial systems to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
