Fragrance Evaluator

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Perfumer & Fragrance Evaluator to join a dynamic and fast-growing organization within the beauty and fragrance industry. This role sits at the intersection of artistry, science, and market insight, responsible for both the creation of innovative fragrances and the critical evaluation of scent performance, quality, and market alignment.

The ideal candidate will bring a refined olfactory sense, deep technical knowledge of raw materials, and a strong understanding of evolving consumer preferences across regional and international markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Fragrance Creation & Development
• Design and develop original fragrance compositions across multiple categories including fine fragrance, home, and personal care.
• Translate creative briefs into distinctive olfactory profiles aligned with brand positioning and target audience.
• Select and balance raw materials to achieve desired scent structure, performance, and stability.
• Continuously innovate by exploring new accords, ingredients, and fragrance technologies.
• Fragrance Evaluation & Quality Control
• Conduct structured olfactory evaluations of fragrance samples, benchmarks, and competitor products.
• Assess fragrance performance across key parameters including longevity, projection, stability, and dry-down.
• Provide clear, data-driven feedback to guide formulation refinement and product optimization.
• Ensure all fragrances meet internal quality standards, regulatory requirements, and market expectations.
• Market Insight & Trend Analysis
• Monitor global and regional fragrance trends, ingredient innovations, and consumer behavior.
• Benchmark competitor products to identify gaps and opportunities for innovation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align fragrance direction with brand and commercial strategy.
• Collaboration & R&D Support
• Work closely with product development, sourcing, and marketing teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Participate in testing cycles, ensuring fragrance consistency across production batches.
• Support supplier engagement and evaluation of raw materials and fragrance houses.

Candidate Profile

Education & ExperienceDegree in Perfumery, Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field.

Proven experience in fragrance creation and/or evaluation within the perfume or beauty industry.

Strong portfolio demonstrating fragrance development capabilities is highly preferred.

Technical ExpertiseAdvanced olfactory skills with the ability to analyze and describe complex fragrance compositions.

In-depth knowledge of fragrance raw materials, accords, and formulation techniques.

Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and quality standards within the fragrance industry.
