Queen Elizabeth's School, Dubai Sports City are seeking a skilled and proactive Facilities Technician to support the safe, efficient, and effective operation of Queen Elizabeth’s School, Dubai Sports City.
This role works collaboratively with the Facilities Manager, Operations Team, contractors, and the wider school community to ensure that the school’s buildings, systems, equipment, and grounds are maintained to the highest standards.
The Facilities Technician plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming environment that supports teaching, learning, and the wellbeing of students, staff, and visitors.
The role contributes to the smooth day-to-day running of the school by carrying out preventative maintenance, responding to maintenance requests, supporting health and safety compliance, and assisting with the upkeep of the school’s facilities and infrastructure.

Job Title: Facilities Assistant TechnicianReporting to: Operations ManagerMaintenance and RepairsCarry out general maintenance, repairs, and minor improvement works across the school campus.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests raised by staff and departments.
Undertake basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, and mechanical repairs within the scope of competence.
Repair and maintain school furniture, fixtures, fittings, and equipment.
Assist with preventative maintenance programmes to ensure school facilities remain in good working order.
Identify and report any maintenance issues requiring specialist contractors or further investigation.
Facilities and Site SupportSupport the daily operation of school facilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
Assist with the setup and dismantling of furniture, equipment, and resources for assemblies, examinations, events, and meetings.
Conduct regular inspections of classrooms, offices, communal areas, and outdoor spaces to identify maintenance requirements.
Ensure all school areas are kept in a safe, clean, and presentable condition.
Support the upkeep of outdoor areas, including playgrounds, pathways, and sports facilities where required.
Health, Safety, and ComplianceEnsure all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with health and safety regulations and school policies.
Report hazards, defects, and safety concerns promptly to the Facilities Manager.
Assist in maintaining compliance with statutory inspections and maintenance schedules.
Use tools, equipment, and materials safely and responsibly.
Support emergency procedures and assist in responding to site-related incidents when required.
Resource and Equipment ManagementMaintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies in a safe and organised manner.
Monitor stock levels of maintenance materials and report replenishment needs.
Ensure maintenance equipment is regularly checked and fit for purpose.
Support contractors working on site by providing access and ensuring compliance with school procedures.
Operational SupportAssist with school relocations, classroom moves, and furniture installations.
Support the school during special events, inspections, and community activities.
Provide practical support for minor refurbishment and improvement projects.
Undertake other reasonable duties associated with the effective operation of the school site.
Student Wellbeing, Safeguarding and Professional ConductContribute to a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Maintain professional conduct and act as a positive representative of the school at all times.
Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring all responsibilities are carried out in accordance with school policies and local regulations.
Maintain appropriate professional boundaries when working within the school environment.
The PersonQualifications and ExperienceRelevant maintenance, trade, or vocational qualification is desirable.
Previous experience in a handyman, maintenance, facilities, or building services role.
Experience working in a school, educational, hospitality, or commercial environment is desirable.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, and general maintenance tasks.
Understanding of health and safety requirements relating to facilities maintenance.
Knowledge of local regulations and compliance requirements is an advantage.
