Entegro has been engaged by a key client to support the decommissioning of legacy telecommunications infrastructure under a formal Statement of Work across multiple US locations.
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall coordination, governance, reporting, stakeholder management, and operational oversight of the legacy network decommissioning programme.
This role serves as the primary interface between Entegro, field delivery teams, and client stakeholders, ensuring all work is delivered safely, compliantly, and in accordance with the approved Statement of Work, project schedule, and operational processes.
The Project Manager will manage project scheduling, weekly governance meetings, systems reporting, field escalations, Found-in-Field activities, and programme tracking across multiple concurrent deployment waves. The role requires strong telecommunications programme management capability combined with disciplined operational control and customer-facing communication skills.
The successful candidate must be highly organised, process-driven, and capable of managing fast-moving field operations in live telecommunications and data centre environments.
Responsibilities
Project Governance & Delivery Management
The Project Manager is responsible for
- Acting as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders throughout programme delivery
- Coordinating all project activities in alignment with approved Work Orders and programme schedules
- Managing overall project governance, administrative oversight, and operational reporting
- Maintaining accurate programme schedules and deployment tracking across all assigned sites
- Ensuring field teams execute work in accordance with the approved SOW and client operational procedures
- Managing project risks, blockers, dependencies, and escalations to resolution
- Supporting mobilisation planning, site sequencing, and deployment readiness activities
- Coordinating Found-in-Field (Change Managememt) approval workflows with client stakeholders, including commercial approvals
- Monitoring project performance against schedule, quality, and reporting requirements
- Ensuring all required deliverables are completed prior to project closeout and invoicing
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
The Project Manager is responsible for
- Conducting weekly progress meetings with client stakeholders
- Preparing and presenting weekly status updates covering completed work, upcoming activities, schedule performance, risks, dependencies, and Found-in-Field discoveries
- Maintaining meeting minutes, action trackers, and documented follow-ups after each governance session
- Providing timely communication to stakeholders regarding field issues, delays, or operational risks
- Coordinating closely with field engineers, client engineering teams, and programme leadership to maintain alignment
- Escalating out-of-scope activities or customer-impact risks appropriately and without delay
Systems, Tracking & Documentation
The Project Manager is responsible for
- Managing programme reporting through client applications and systems, and associated client systems
- Maintaining Excel-based project trackers documenting:
- Site locations
- Scheduled and actual completion dates
- Quantity of devices decommissioned
- Found-in-Field activities
- Remobilisations
- Risks, blockers, and status notes
- Verifying field documentation completeness, including daily logs, LOTO documentation, and before/after photographs
- Ensuring all operational records are accurate, audit-ready, and submitted in accordance with programme requirements
- Ensuring all work orders are tracked to commercial milestones
- Supporting invoicing validation through accurate unit tracking and reporting alignment
Skills Required
Essential Skills
- Proven experience managing telecommunications, network infrastructure, or data centre deployment programmes in live operational environments
- Experience coordinating field-based deployment or decommissioning teams across multiple locations
- Strong understanding of project governance, scheduling, risk management, and operational reporting
- Experience leading customer-facing programme meetings and stakeholder communications
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams in a fast-paced operational environment
- Experience using project tracking, work order, or field management systems such as NetPal, FieldTech, or equivalent
- Advanced competency with Excel-based project trackers and reporting
- Ability to maintain accurate operational documentation and audit-ready reporting records
- Demonstrable understanding of field safety governance in telecommunications or data centre environments
- Ability to enforce compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and operational safety procedures
- Experience working within regulated customer operational environments requiring strict process adherence
Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with legacy telecommunications infrastructure and decommissioning methodologies
- Experience managing Found-in-Field or any change-control workflows and processes
- Familiarity with central office, colocation, or data centre operational environments
- Experience supporting project invoicing validation and milestone reporting
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification, desirable but not essential
Educational Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 5 years experience in telecommunications project management, network deployment, or infrastructure operations
- Experience supporting field operations across geographically dispersed sites
- Willingness to travel within the United States as required by programme delivery needs
- Clear communicator, capable of managing customer expectations and operational escalations professionally
- Strong leadership and coordination capability, able to drive accountability across field and stakeholder teams
- Highly organised and process-driven, able to maintain control across multiple concurrent deployment activities
- Safety-first mindset prioritises operational safety and customer network integrity above schedule pressure
- Disciplined and methodical approach to governance, reporting, and operational compliance
- Decisive problem-solver, able to rapidly assess operational risks and coordinate corrective actions
- Integrity. Escalates risks, deviations, or out-of-scope requests appropriately rather than bypassing process
Desirable
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification (or equivalent experience)
- Degree or technical qualification in Telecommunications, Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline
- Adaptable. Comfortable operating across changing priorities, schedules, and deployment environments
