The Opportunity
We are looking for a Vice President of Global Logistics to help design, establish, and scale the bank’s secure international transportation network across CIS, the Middle East, Africa, and other priority markets.
This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on logistics leader with deep experience developing cross-border lanes with high-value cargo transportation companies, working with airlines and ground handling partners, and managing the booking, custody, security, and movement of valuable cargo across complex jurisdictions.
The role will focus on building reliable operating routes, improving delivery efficiency, strengthening compliance and security risk management, and scaling logistics infrastructure to support the bank’s international growth.
In this role, you will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and cross-functional partners to identify transportation partners, stand up secure operating lanes, support transaction execution, and build long-term relationships with carriers, airlines, handlers, and in-country service providers.
You will be expected to operate at both the strategic and executional levels: evaluating markets and partners, negotiating service models, traveling to priority countries, troubleshooting live movements, and ensuring the bank has a dependable, compliant, and scalable logistics network for high-value cargo.
- What You’ll DoDevelop and implement global logistics strategies aligned with the bank’s commercial growth objectives and high-value cargo operating requirements
- Identify, assess, and onboard secure transportation providers capable of supporting valuable cargo movements across multiple countries and regions
- Establish, test, and optimize international transportation lanes across CIS, the Middle East, Africa, and other priority corridors
- Manage relationships with airlines, high-value cargo carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, CIT providers, ground handlers, and other third-party logistics partners
- Oversee airline booking processes, shipment planning, documentation readiness, cargo acceptance, handover procedures, and airport handling requirements for valuable cargo
- Travel to priority markets to evaluate partners, inspect operational readiness, support route launches, and resolve execution issues on the ground
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, aviation security procedures, sanctions controls, and transportation standards
- Lead risk management and contingency planning to mitigate service disruptions, custody breaks, security events, documentation issues, and cross-border delays
- Negotiate transportation contracts, service-level expectations, pricing, insurance requirements, and operating procedures to maximize value and reliability
- Monitor logistics metrics, shipment performance, partner reliability, cost, and route efficiency to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Champion logistics systems, workflow improvements, and practical technology adoption to support visibility, control, and scalability
- Represent the bank in partner meetings, client discussions, regional industry events, and conferences
- What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
Required
- 10+ years of progressive experience in international logistics, secure transportation, supply chain, aviation cargo, or high-value cargo operations
- Proven experience developing cross-border transportation lanes and managing logistics operations across multiple countries
- Direct experience working with high-value cargo transportation companies, secure carriers, CIT providers, or specialist logistics providers
- Strong understanding of airline cargo processes, including booking, cargo acceptance, documentation, airport handling, transfer points, and escalation management
- Strong knowledge of international shipping, customs requirements, trade compliance, aviation security, and global transportation networks
- Experience managing third-party logistics providers, negotiating service models, and building strategic supplier relationships in complex markets
- Hands-on operating style with the ability to move from strategy to execution, including traveling to markets, meeting partners, and resolving operational issues directly
- Strong judgment, professionalism, discretion, and communication skills in regulated, cross-border, and security-sensitive environments
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly across CIS, the Middle East, Africa, and other priority markets

- Existing relationships with airlines, secure logistics providers, cargo handlers, customs brokers, or CIT providers in CIS, the Middle East, or Africa
- Experience building logistics capabilities in a start-up, growth-stage, or newly established international operating environment
- Working knowledge of regional aviation, customs, and security procedures in emerging or frontier markets
