GENERAL
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager oversees all aspects of shift operations, including productivity, PPOH targets, quality standards, customer service, and workforce performance. This role also ensures a safe, secure, and organized environment while supporting employee growth and operational efficiency.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee daily payroll processing and track labor expenses to ensure efficiency.
- Manage and control operational expenses and overall shift costs within the facility.
- Apply knowledge of production processes, cost analysis, and facility design to improve operations.
- Monitor and analyze direct costs, maintaining strong vendor relationships and understanding contract terms.
- Ensure the facility operates in a cost-effective manner while maintaining a strong focus on workplace safety.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to maintain equipment reliability and ensure safe operation of all machinery.
- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports, including key performance metrics.
- Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Create and manage shift schedules based on projected workload and production demands.
- Coordinate and deliver ongoing training programs for employees, including safety protocols and job-specific skills.
- Respond promptly to customer concerns, service issues, or emergency situations as needed.
- Support the development of annual budgets and participate in the approval process alongside leadership.
- Conduct employee evaluations (including 90-day and annual reviews) and manage disciplinary actions up to and including termination.
- Maintain productivity benchmarks, including PPOH, at established company standards.
- Lead the training, mentoring, and professional development of both hourly and salaried team members.
- Develop and implement growth and performance plans for supervisory staff.
- Oversee inventory, supplies, utilities, and purchasing to maintain effective cost control.
- Partner with leadership to explore workforce opportunities and staffing strategies within the market.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least two years of management experience in a high-volume laundry operation, hospitality environment, or similar production setting.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of production workflows, performance tracking, and efficiency improvement.
- Familiarity with laundry equipment operations and basic chemical processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates leadership, initiative, accountability, and adaptability.
- Capable of using operational knowledge to meet and exceed performance goals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred.
