Position Overview

Imagine Development is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Estimator / Project Coordinator to support estimating, preconstruction, and day-to-day project coordination for custom residential construction projects on the Big Island.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both technical estimating work and operational coordination while helping projects move forward efficiently from planning through execution.

The right candidate will have strong experience reviewing plans, preparing estimates, coordinating project information, and helping maintain organization across active projects. This person will work closely with ownership, office staff, field teams, and subcontractors to help improve communication, accountability, and workflow throughout the company.

This role requires someone who can work proactively, communicate clearly, and contribute positively within a collaborative, fast-moving construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and takeoffs for custom residential projects
• Review construction plans and specifications thoroughly for scope accuracy
• Assist with project scheduling, two-week look-aheads, and documentation tracking
• Manage and track change orders, procurement support, and project updates
• Coordinate communication between office staff, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors
• Maintain Buildertrend project information and workflows
• Support operational processes, accountability systems, and project organization
• Participate in planning meetings and day-to-day coordination activities

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in estimating, project coordination, or construction operations
• Experience in custom residential construction preferred
• Strong Buildertrend experience required
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Excellent communication and follow-through
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative office environment
• High integrity and accountability
• Must be local to the Big Island or willing to relocate
