Job Summary
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Costing Executive to manage product costing, pricing analysis, cost estimation, and manufacturing cost control activities. The role requires extensive interaction with production teams to collect process data, evaluate manufacturing costs, prepare accurate cost sheets, and support strategic pricing decisions.
The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Advanced Excel, excellent PowerPoint presentation skills, a solid understanding of manufacturing costing principles, and prior experience in a costing, estimation, or pricing department within a manufacturing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Costing & Pricing
- Prepare and maintain detailed product cost sheets for existing and new products.
- Conduct sample costing and pricing.
- Analyse raw material, labor, machine, process, and overhead costs to determine accurate product costs.
- Develop and update pricing models, rate matrices, and cost databases.
- Perform profitability analysis and recommend pricing strategies.
- Monitor cost fluctuations and assess their impact on product pricing.
- Production Floor Coordination
- Regularly visit the production floor to collect operational and process-related data.
- Work closely with Production, Planning, Procurement, Quality, and Engineering teams to gather costing inputs.
- Conduct process studies and validate manufacturing cycle times.
- Understand production workflows and identify key cost drivers affecting profitability.
- Data Analysis & Cost Control
- Analyze manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Prepare monthly cost variance reports and management summaries.
- Develop and maintain Excel-based costing models, dashboards, and trackers.
- Support management with data-driven recommendations for cost reduction initiatives.
- Reporting & Presentations
- Prepare professional PowerPoint presentations for management reviews, pricing discussions, and cost review meetings.
- Present costing analysis and pricing recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain proper documentation of costing assumptions, methodologies, and historical pricing records.
- Process Improvement
- Assist in developing and improving costing systems, templates, and SOPs. Ensure consistency and accuracy in costing methodologies across products.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Finance, Cost Accounting, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- ICWA/CMA Inter or equivalent qualification will be an added advantage
- Experience2–5 years of relevant experience in Costing, Pricing, Estimation, Product Costing, or Manufacturing Finance.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is mandatory.
- Experience handling product costing independently and coordinating with production teams.
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel Strong PowerPoint presentation skills.
- Good understanding of manufacturing costing concepts.
- Knowledge of BOM structures, routing, process costing, and overhead allocation.
- ERP system experience.
Preferred
Exposure to variance analysis and cost control processes. Experience in custom-made or project-based manufacturing industries.
