Job Summary
The HSE Officer will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving health, safety, and environmental standards at Auriz Refinery. The role ensures full compliance with UAE safety regulations, refinery safety standards, and Kayzan Group HSE policies. The officer will actively promote a strong safety culture and minimize workplace risks and incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and safety programs across the refinery.
- Ensure compliance with UAE labor laws, Sharjah Municipality regulations, and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
- Identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safe work practices.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare incident reports and corrective action plans.
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and HSE training for employees and contractors.
- Monitor and maintain records related to incidents, trainings, permits, MSDS, and safety compliance.
- Coordinate emergency response plans, fire drills, and evacuation procedures.
- Liaise with management, external auditors, and regulatory authorities on HSE matters.
- Support environmental compliance including waste management, chemical handling, and spill prevention.
- Promote continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance.
Mandatory Qualifications & Requirements
- NEBOSH Certification (IGC or equivalent) – Mandatory
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 2–5 years of HSE experience, preferably in refinery, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of refinery safety standards, hazardous materials handling, and emergency response.
- Familiarity with UAE HSE regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and training skills.
- Ability to work independently and enforce safety discipline.
