What You Will Do
- You will conduct complex examinations of Corporate, Fiduciary, and Partnership tax returns.
- You will proactively identify and resolve discrepancies, educate taxpayers, and provide exceptional customer service contributing to taxpayer compliance.
Primary Job Duties
- Include
- Reviewing C and S Corporations, Electric Co-Operatives, Public Utility, Bank, Savings & Loan, Partnership, Eleemosynary, and Fiduciary tax returns for accuracy and compliance with SC laws
- Examining refund claims, carry-forwards, extensions, return amendments, and tax or license fee computations
- Providing professional customer service to taxpayers and other departments via phone, email, and written correspondence
- Analyzing accounts, annotating updates, and resolving balance due or payment discrepancies
- Conducting withholding verification and tax credit reviews Either

Requirements
- A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses (Transcripts required.

ORAn associate’s degree and experience in accounting, finance, insurance, or tax preparation/analysis Relevant experience or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR)
- Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Twelve semester hours in accounting, audit, or other business-related subjects
- Basic knowledge of SC tax laws and forms and on-line computer systems Additional Comments
