About Us

White Rose is a registered UK charity, trading through our chain of handpicked pre-loved fashion retail stores. We were founded in 2010 by Nottingham Trent University students to support the work of the Aegis Trust. Aegis are a UK registered charity, who aims to prevent and resolve hate and violence through peace education programmes in communities affected worldwide.

At White Rose we actively encourage volunteers from all backgrounds as we support Aegis in their mission to prevent discrimination and hate that leads to mass atrocities.

White Rose support Aegis by selling handpicked, high quality, pre-loved fashion and accessories in our multiple shops across Nottinghamshire, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Derby and Leicester.

How you can get involved

Volunteering in our White Rose store is a diverse, exciting and fulfilling experience. We provide the opportunity for you to learn different skills regularly and gain a variety of experience, so no two shifts are the same.

You don't need any experience to volunteer, all we ask is that you are enthusiastic, motivated, hardworking and keen to learn new skills or share any skills or previous experience and talents to support our amazing cause!

We offer a full induction as well as ongoing training opportunities to make sure you feel confident and able to excel in your volunteering with White Rose. Equipping you with the skills to take into your future journey and career.

Typical tasks of store volunteer

• Serving customers and taking payments.
• Giving amazing customer service and interacting with the general public in store and through social media.
• Sorting through donated items and organising delivery.
• Creating eye-catching window and in store displays.
• Keeping the shop tidy, clean and well organised.

When can I volunteer?

Any days - Monday to Sunday

Any time between 10am - 5pm

How long is a typical session?

We suggest at least a 3-4 hour shift to get real benefit and experience.

How many shifts can I do?

As many as you like! Some of our team do one a week, some do as many as 4-5 a week!
