Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, review, and coordination of LV and MV power distribution systems for building, airport, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare electrical design calculations, including load calculations, voltage drop calculations, cable sizing, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination studies under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Support the design of substations, transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power factor correction systems, and electrical rooms.
- Develop and review single-line diagrams, power layouts, lighting layouts, earthing and lightning protection systems, and electrical equipment schedules.
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, MEP, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Assist in the preparation and review of technical reports, specifications, material submittals, and shop drawings.
- Support utility coordination activities and assist in obtaining approvals from local authorities such as DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, and Civil Defense.
- Participate in site inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover activities to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
- Assist in resolving technical issues related to power distribution systems, cable routing, electrical equipment, and installation works.
- Ensure compliance with applicable international standards and local authority regulations.
- Support senior engineers and project managers in delivering projects within established schedules and budgets.
- Contribute to energy-efficient and sustainable electrical design solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical power engineering, preferably in building, airport, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience in the design of LV/MV power systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and electrical distribution networks.
- Familiarity with electrical power system studies such as load flow, voltage drop, cable sizing, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination.
- Proficiency in ETAP, Dialux, Auto
- CAD, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of international standards and local authority requirements, including IEC, IEEE, DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, and Civil Defense regulations.
- Exposure to site supervision, testing, commissioning, and authority inspections is preferred.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
