About AI Research Team and the Role As an AI Research Intern at Origin Medical Research Lab, you will be working with our team of research engineers, AI scientists, leading medical institutions, and clinicians in developing the next-generation deep learning algorithms for the automated assessment of fetal ultrasound images.
Our internships provide a very unique hands-on first of its kind research experience to solve the most challenging AI problems that push the frontiers of AI in healthcare. You will have the opportunity to try and test hypotheses for multiple experiments and be mentored by industry experts to translate your research into a product for real-world impact.
What will you do? AI algorithmic research: Design, and implement next generational deep learning models (e.g., Classification/Segmentation/Object detection/ Landmark detection) to build world-class products.
This also includes the development of visualization tools and frameworks to create interpretable deep-learning models.AI algorithm validation: Validate deep learning technologies for safety, efficacy at various stages of the product development life cycle.
Technology translation: Work with Product, Software, and Regulatory teams to translate technologies developed into products for real-world use.
Technology and engineering strategy: Research into the latest technologies (not limited to AI) to provide strategy and direction in product development.
Who are we looking for?
Passionate in developing the next generation of deep-technological healthcare solutions to impact the lives of millions of expecting mothers and their families around the world.
At least 6 months of hands-on experience in deep learning or machine learning research and development pertaining to image recognition: convolutional neural networks, optimization, hyperparameter tuning, model search, etc.
Analytical thinker with an innate inquisitiveness, relevant interests, and creativity.
Ability to quickly read, understand, and implement academic publications.
Team player and eager-to-learn attitude.
Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively - both verbally and in writing - in English.
Previous internship experience at early-stage startups is a plus.
Experience in:
Language: PythonFrameworks: PyTorch (Preferred), TensorFlow, KerasLibraries: OpenCV, Pandas, PIL, Matplotib, etc.
Basic understanding and knowledge in:
Medical imaging processing.
Real-time model development and deployment frameworks.
Git and Git workflow.
