- Our launch product is an API that lets our partners deliver EUR payouts to European bank accounts via SEPA — quickly and at low cost.
We are assembling a small founding team to build infrastructure for one of the fastest-growing segments in global payments. This is a ground-floor opportunity with meaningful ownership and direct influence over the company we build.
The Role
We are looking for a CEO to be the face of the company before regulators, banks, investors, and enterprise clients.
You will lead client acquisition, build and own banking and partner relationships, and drive the company’s licensing roadmap across Canada and the EU.This is a hands-on, build-from-zero leadership role for someone who has operated inside regulated financial companies and knows how to get licenses approved and bank accounts opened.
- What You’ll DoLead B2B client acquisition among fintechs in MENA, LATAM, Asia, and Africa
- Open and maintain corporate banking, EMI, and payment partner relationships, including SEPA payout arrangements
- Own the licensing strategy and its execution: a money services business (MSB) registration in Canada first, followed by EMI / PI licensing in the EUServe as the company’s approved senior executive before financial regulators, and pass fit-and-proper assessments
- Negotiate commercial terms with payment, FX, and settlement partners
- Represent Reelo at industry events and in investor conversations, supporting fundraising alongside the founder
- What We’re Looking For7+ years in payments or fintech, including 3+ years in a senior role at a regulated financial company (EMI, PI, payment institution, or another licensed financial institution)
- Direct, hands-on experience obtaining and maintaining regulatory licenses such as EMI, PI, or equivalent, and working with financial regulators (for example FCA, CySEC, SCA, Bank of Lithuania, FINTRAC, or similar)
- A track record of passing fit-and-proper / approved-person assessments, with the ability to serve as a Senior Executive Officer in EU and Canadian regulatory regimes
- Proven B2B fintech sales experience and a strong commercial network
- Experience opening and managing corporate banking relationships
- Professional working proficiency in English
- Authorization to work in, or willingness to relocate to, Dubai, UAENice to Have
- Existing relationships with payment partners, EMIs, and banking providers
- Experience taking a new payment product or corridor from zero to live
- Additional languages relevant to our client markets (for example Arabic, Spanish, or Portuguese)
