This role offers the chance to contribute to cutting-edge projects across a broad range of AI disciplines, including Natural Language Processing, Large Language Models, Agentic AI, Knowledge Graphs, Graph Machine Learning, Autonomy, Robotics and Computer Vision.
You'll work alongside highly skilled researchers and engineers, helping to develop innovative solutions that address complex real-world challenges across defence, security and commercial environments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving research initiatives, developing proof-of-concept solutions and contributing to the delivery of advanced AI capabilities from concept through to application.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to innovative research activities within AI and Machine Learning
- Develop prototypes, demonstrations and proof-of-concept solutions
- Support and lead technical delivery within multidisciplinary project teams
- Produce technical documentation, reports and proposal material
- Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborate with academic institutions, industry partners and internal specialists to advance emerging technologies
Key Requirements
- PhD in a relevant discipline
- Strong commercial or research experience within Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
- Excellent Python development skills
- Experience working with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Experience applying Large Language Models, Knowledge Graphs or Graph Machine Learning techniques
- Ability to translate advanced research into practical, real-world solutionsDesirable Experience:
- Natural Language Processing, information extraction or text analytics
- Agentic AI and modern LLM-based architectures
- Graph databases and graph-based data modelling
- Graph Machine Learning frameworks such as PyTorch Geometric or similar
- Knowledge representation, ontology development and semantic reasoning
