LSE is committed to building a diverse, equitable and truly inclusive university Global School of Sustainability at LSE Research Assistant Salary from £36,513 to £41,565 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £44,468 pa inclusive of London allowance This is a Fixed Term appointment for 1 year (with potential to extend for a second year subject to funding) The Global School of Sustainability (GSoS) is a major new interdisciplinary centre for sustainability research and impact at LSE. We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant for a one-year period.
The project to which the Research Assistant will contribute will conduct cutting-edge research on clean tech innovation to inform industrial strategies for sustainable growth.
The project is led by Anna Valero, Professor in Practice at GSoS and the LSE’s Centre for Economic Performance. The role-holder will play a major role in the planning, design, and implementation of the project and will co-author all outputs accordingly. The role will assist with data matching, processing, modelling, and analysis and will contribute to co-authored policy reports and top-journal-quality publications.
The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in Economics or other quantitative social science discipline, or quantitative discipline where the primary focus has been on analysis of data for social sciences questions. A Masters in Economics, or other quantitative social sciencediscipline (but must have verygoodknowledge of economics), by post start date is desirable.
Candidates should also have advanced experience of using Stata for analysing large scale micro data sets and experience of large-scale data driven projects.
We also require experience of data work requiring great accuracy and attention to detail and ability to identify appropriate methods of economic investigation and an ability to interpret and analyse patterns or trends in data, with the ability to think through economic problems analytically.
A demonstrated knowledge of and interest in environmental sustainability, the economics of innovation and technological change, and the wider context of industrial/growth policies for sustainable growth is desirable.
