ROLE AND CORE FUNCTIONThe Risk Analyst supports the Risk Management activities within Barita Financial Group in the efficient production of periodic risk reports and analyses; and supports the maintenance and update of various risk management tools throughout the organization.
The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading, where instructed by Senior Management; the various models, tools, datasets and associated procedures that support the Group’s Financial and Non-Financial Risk processes.
He/she will also be required to communicate frequently with other internal stakeholders from various segments of the business in relation to key risk initiatives as well as risk inputs and outputs for miscellaneous processes.
Functional
Responsibilities
- The incumbent responsibilities are: Produce periodic reports for various risk exposures including liquidity, market, credit and operational risks
- Prepare periodic valuation of financial assets throughout the Group
- Manage the models, tools, processes and databases that support the production of risk reports.
- This includes:
- Ensuring that the various model parameters are up to date
- Continuous improvement of the efficiency of reporting processes
- Building and maintaining relevant datasets that support the models
- Maintaining up to date procedures Maintain operational loss data for the Group
- Maintain communication with, and provide technical guidance to, the various risk owners, product owners, and control functions within the Group to support their maintenance of risk registers, completion of New Initiative Risk Assessments, Third Party Risk Assessments and other distributed tools that support the risk management process.
- Support the risk and limit monitoring and administration process through monitoring of utilizations and processing of limit requests.
- Support Information Technology projects that involve risk management
- Prepare Ad hoc risk analysis where required
- Support the data, market or other analytical needs of the Group as may be assigned from time to time.

- Qualification And Experience
- First Degree in an Applied Science field/Statistic/Economics/Data Science/Com. Sci
- Level I CFA and/or FRM candidate or higher would be an asset
- Minimum 1 year experience in an analytical capacity in banking or financial services preferred.
- General understanding of ERM and Investment principles
- Proficiency in Data Management, Analysis and Visualization tools as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- At Minimum, must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Working Knowledge of Microsoft Power Apps would be an Asset
- Ability to understand, interpret and apply Artificial Intelligence in risk management
- Working understanding of the impact of current and expected Economic Conditions on Financial Markets

Working Conditions
The job is based on a forty-hour work week; however, the nature of the company’s business will require flexible working hours during the week and possibly on weekends and public holidays.
