Role Summary
This is an end-to-end operational HR role. Rather than handling isolated tasks, you will be the primary point of contact for your assigned unit, managing daily HR operations, leave administration, HRIS maintenance, training coordination, and employee relations at the shop-floor level.
Core Pillars of Responsibility
- Daily HR Operations & Employee Management (Floor Level)
- First Line of Contact: Serve as the primary, accessible HR representative for the factory staff, shift technicians, and supervisors within your assigned operational unit.
- Employee Relations: Address daily queries regarding company policies, shift rosters, overtime (OT) tracking, and basic payroll inputs.
- Leave & Attendance Management
- Time & Attendance Tracking: Oversee daily biometric attendance logs and shift adjustments for all personnel within your unit.
- Leave Governance: Monitor, verify, and approve leave requests in accordance with manufacturing shift cycles and labor policies.
- Shortage Mitigation: Proactively flag labor shortage trends or high absenteeism within your unit to operations leads to ensure production schedules are uninterrupted.
- HRIS Maintenance & Data Integrity
- Database Ownership: Ensure the real-time accuracy and integrity of all employee data on the global HRIS platform
- Record Management: Maintain digitized, complete, and highly confidential digital files for all unit-specific employees (contracts, promotions, warning letters, appraisal scores).
- Training & Development (T&D) Coordination
- Skills Tracking: Support unit leads in conducting basic Training Need Analyses (TNAs) for technical, welding, and machine operations teams.
- Onboarding & OJT: Coordinate on-the-job training (OJT) sessions for new technical hires and maintain structured training logs.
- Compliance Training: Organise and track standard compliance, safety, and operational excellence workshops, ensuring high attendance rates within your assigned operational shift.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Fully or partially qualified in CIPM / CQHRM is highly advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of practical experience in HR Operations, preferably within a manufacturing, factory, engineering, or fast-paced logistics environment. Recent graduates with outstanding academic records and relevant internship experience in a manufacturing plant are also encouraged to apply.
- Tech Savviness: Strong hands-on proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables) and direct experience using modern HRIS or Time & Attendance systems will be an advantage.
Soft Skills & Core Attributes
- Bilingual Communication: Fluency in English and Sinhala is mandatory to effectively coordinate between corporate management and factory-floor personnel. Proficiency in Tamil is an added advantage.
- Proactive "Hustle" Mentality: A hands-on, high-energy professional who enjoys being present on the production floor rather than being chained to a desk.
- High Empathy & Integrity: Excellent active-listening and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality regarding staff records.

- Direct exposure to international manufacturing HR workflows and modern HRIS tools.
