Drew Campbell
Hey Chicago film community, I'm Drew, a Re-recording Mixer, and I'm looking for a talented editor for an upcoming independent short film. This is a character-driven period drama, think early 20th century, with a subtle, melancholic tone. We've got some beautiful footage that really captures the era, and we're looking for someone who can craft a compelling narrative, focusing on pacing and emotional resonance.
Your primary responsibility will be assembling the initial cut and refining it through several rounds of feedback to a picture lock. We’re aiming for a festival run, so a strong visual storyteller is key. We’re looking for someone with around 3-5 years of experience in narrative editing, demonstrated through a strong reel, ideally with some period piece or drama experience.
You should have your own editing suite and software (Premiere Pro preferred), and be comfortable working remotely for dailies review, though we'd love to connect in person for key feedback sessions. Start date is flexible, but ideally, we'd like to begin post-production within the next 2-3 weeks after principal photography wraps. This is a deferred pay project, acknowledging the hard work and commitment required.
Please send your reel and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience.
