• Reporting to the Practice Manager of Valley Heart Institute with clinical oversight by the on-site Clinical manager, the Sonographer competently performs a variety of standard, specialty and complex adult transthoracic echocardiogram and vascular sonographic examinations and procedures without supervision; producing quality studies under a variety of conditions.
• Demonstrates independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the application of non-ionizing high frequency ultrasonic waves for cardiac and vascular diagnosis.
• Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
• Accurately receives instructions verbally, written and electronic, and ensures they are carried out as directed.
• Demonstrates anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by or at the request of the cardiologist.
• Maintains and respects patient's confidentiality.
• Exercises professional judgment in the performance and delivery of service excellence while maintaining a demeanor complementary to medical and professional code of ethics.
• Maintains knowledge of, observes, and enforces the safety measures in Environment of Care.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School graduate, minimum of 3 years working as Echocardiograph/Vascular, Sonographer performing adult, and geriatric echocardiograms, completion of a formal ECHO Cardiographic or an accredited Ultrasound program.
• Minimum Experience/

Skills

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Echocardiograph Sonographer in all modalities of Echo/Vascular adult and geriatric patients.
• License/Certificates/Credentials: Current BLS Certification.
• Must be RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)
