Backend QA Tester

QA Tester (backend focus)

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Type: 6+ Month Contract

Note: This is a hybrid role. Must be open and willing to work downtown 3x a week and 2 days remotely.

Responsibilities

This individual will assist in the development, management, execution of testing related deliverables and activities for the Loyalty Systems Team.

Required skills

• 5+ years direct experience as a tester for major application integration and/or major application product release
• Experience testing Kafka (Real-time Data Streaming Platform) - must have
• API & Backend: experience testing API’s (e.g., using Postman) and databases (SQL) is often required
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate IT processes through careful testing in order to maximize the benefit of business investments in IT initiatives
• Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Experience with Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Zephyr)
• Preferred skills: Experience with ad hoc query programs, automated testing tools, and reporting software; Prior experience in the hospitality or ecommerce industry
