As the Quality Assurance Lead, one will oversee and advance selected quality personnel, as well as advise cross-functional teams to ensure satisfaction of quality and food safety regulations for products made and shipped from their premises.
This position also supports and emphasizes the compliance with certification, regulatory, customer, and trademark standards defined by the company, as well as conducts constant improvement initiatives to comply with these expectations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise, guide, and inspire a team working on the production floor and the quality control laboratory to achieve desired outcomes by conveying company goals, including ensuring customer satisfaction, delivering high-quality services, following safety protocols, and meeting project deadlines
- Build individual and team capabilities through performance management tools, coaching programs, and training opportunities that are tailored to the needs of the team
- Upgrading company processes, while concurrently maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction, upholds organizational values on servant leadership, and aligns with corporate purpose
- Managing and upholding the Consolidated Management System (CMS) program is critical to ensuring that the company meets regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards. It is also important to comprehend and support the necessary documentation, training, and organizational measures required for maintaining a food safety certification that is recognized worldwide
- The processing of laboratory data is an important function of any laboratory. I am tasked with overseeing this process, monitoring the data for accuracy and analyzing it to identify any unfavorable trends and making recommendations for improvement
- Offer guidance and support to internal stakeholders such as management and employees to ensure best practices in compliance and documentation
- The ability to navigate the challenges of manufacturing while also keeping up with the complex demands of the food industry is key to success in these sectors
- A good understanding of lab equipment and how to interpret test results is crucial for maintaining the integrity of a manufacturing process

- Skilled in High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC) Methodologies
- Handling microbial cultures requires finesse and attention to detail to avoid contaminating the culture. It involves minimizing the chance of introducing unwanted microbes into the culture while obtaining pure samples for study

- Proficiency in performing well amidst the rigors of a rapid-paced food production environment with varying temperatures throughout the year, adaptable work shifts, and a need to assume weekend and holiday shifts when required
- For this job, it is important for the applicant to have the capability to stand continuously, navigate the factory floor, ascend stairs, and heave items weighing up to 25lbs
Minimum Qualifications
- With an associate's degree or up to three years of college or technical school experience, individuals may qualify for certain job positions that require an educational background
- The understanding accumulated during 1 to 3 years of job participation
