Qualifications of Freight Hauler
- Possession of a CDL Class A is a necessity
- Must have or be able to acquire a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
- Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of recorded experience driving a tractor-trailer within the last 3 years, or a minimum of 2 years of recorded experience driving a tractor-trailer within the last 5 years to meet the eligibility criteria for this role

- A driving record from the DMV/MVR for a three-year period showing no more than two incidents of moving violations or accidents
- Comply with all governmental guidelines, standards, and regulations, whether on a federal or state level
- Being present on a regular basis and in a reliable manner is a key aspect of the job
- Adhere to the scheduled working hours, be present at the designated site, fill in the Penske job form, agree to a background check involving past employment records, educational background, and any criminal background history, and undergo a drug test as part of the mandatory procedures set by Penske
- The Department of Transportation or the employer designates this role as safety sensitive, requiring individuals to be constantly vigilant and ensure a safe working environment. It is essential for associates to be accountable for their safety and the safety of their colleagues.
Physical Requirements of Freight Hauler

- The associate should have the capacity to perceive through sight and sound. Essential visual skills needed for this role consist of close-range vision, far-range vision, peripheral vision, depth awareness, and the capability to alter focus.
- In the process of executing the tasks associated with this role, the staff member will be expected to engage in frequent movement, such as standing, walking, and sitting. Manual dexterity is essential as the staff member will regularly be using their hands for touching, handling, and feeling objects, while also reaching with their arms. The employee should have the ability to routinely lift and relocate items weighing up to 50lbs/23kg, and periodically handle objects weighing up to 100lbs/45kg.
- The team member must possess the necessary qualifications to lawfully drive a motor vehicle and proficiently navigate entering and exiting the vehicle, including the cargo area at the back.
