Responsibilities
- Stress the need to prioritize safety while driving tractor-trailers.
- Check the vehicle thoroughly before setting off and after arriving at your destination to ensure that it is in a safe and roadworthy condition.
- Develop strategic routing plans to maximize efficiency and guarantee on-time delivery performance.
- Adhere to guidelines for handling and packaging practices to guarantee the safe shipment of goods.
- Foster open lines of communication with both dispatchers and clients throughout the delivery process.
- Keep detailed records of work hours and routine vehicle maintenance.
- Follow the safety guidelines laid out by the Department of Transportation (DOT) to protect employees and the goods in transit
- Promptly communicate any vehicle issues, occurrences, or violations to ensure conformity with rules.
Qualifications
- Possessing a Class A CDL for commercial driving purposes.
- Keeping a clean driving record. Following DOT physical evaluation and drug screening regulations accordingly.
- Demonstrating strong time management and task coordination expertise.
- Skilled in the safe and productive conveyance of heavy and oversized goods.
- Proficient in offering exceptional customer service and proficient at fostering enduring client relationships.
- Upholding a strict commitment to safety requirements and regulatory standards, which includes promptly reporting incidents when they occur.
Experience Levels Accepted
- CDL Trainees
- CDL School Participants
- Entry-Level Commercial Drivers
- A training plan lasting for 12 weeks, intended to expedite the learning process for individuals with different experience levels, varying between three months and five years plus
Preferred Experience
- Ability to handle multiple trailer options, such as dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, and tanker trailers, with proficiency.
- Experience with handling multiple hauls, employing intermodal logistics, and transporting automobiles.
- Capability in managing household goods and specialized freight.
