Role Description The Software Course Learner role is a full-time remote learning position focused on building strong foundations in software development and related technologies. Learners will attend virtual classes, complete coding exercises, and participate in guided projects and labs.
Day-to-day activities include studying course materials, practicing programming concepts, working with databases, and applying software design and testing principles in assignments. The role also involves engaging in online discussions, seeking feedback from mentors, collaborating with peers on group tasks, and preparing portfolios that demonstrate skills to potential employers.
Foundational skills or strong interest in Software Development and Software Design, with a willingness to learn modern development practices.
Basic understanding of Programming concepts (e.g., variables, loops, functions) and readiness to work with at least one programming language.
Interest in Databases, including learning how to design, query, and manage data using relational or NoSQL systems.
Attention to detail and curiosity about Testing practices, including writing and running basic tests to ensure software quality.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to break down complex tasks into manageable steps.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working in virtual teams and interacting with mentors.
Ability to manage time independently in a remote learning environment and meet deadlines for assignments and projects.
High school diploma or equivalent; prior exposure to computer science, IT, or STEM subjects is beneficial but not mandatory.
