Pricing is the primary economic engine of Lyft’s marketplace — a high-precision, real-time system that processes millions of fare calculations per hour, balancing rider affordability, driver earnings, and Lyft’s sustainable growth. The Pricing team sits at the intersection of the marketplace, mediating between rider demand and driver supply, and is a core pillar of the Rider Organization.
As the Group Product Manager for Pricing, you will lead a team of product managers across four sub-teams that together own the full pricing lifecycle: Planned Pricing — the foundation of every fare. This team owns the structural pricing strategy that determines base prices across ride types and regions, balancing long-term financial targets with real-time market conditions.
Dynamic Pricing & Offer Selection — the real-time pulse of the marketplace. This team owns the algorithms that respond to supply and demand shifts (Prime Time) and perform a real-time portfolio optimization to ensure riders can always get a ride and the marketplace stays balanced. Rider Engagement — the growth engine.
This team builds personalized offers to drive rider engagement and retention, increase share of mind, and maximize the ROI of Lyft’s rider incentive spend. Price Orchestration — the pricing platform.
This team owns the end-to-end infrastructure that coordinates every fare request, from upfront quote generation through invoicing, tax calculation, and ratecard management, ensuring reliability, low latency, and compliance at scale.
