Working alongside the class teacher, the Teaching Assistant will support individual learners and small groups, prepare classroom materials, assist with routines, promote positive behaviour, and help pupils build independence.
The role also supports Cranleigh Abu Dhabi s wider educational environment by contributing to supervision, classroom organization, pupil wellbeing, and effective communication within the school team.
Key Responsibilities * Support pupils individually and in small groups to help them access learning across the curriculum.* Assist the class teacher during lessons by reinforcing learning objectives, guiding activities, and encouraging pupil participation.* Use agreed school strategies, including phonics support, mathematics methods, questioning, modelling, and guided practice.* Help pupils develop independence, confidence, personal organization, hygiene awareness, and positive learning habits.* Prepare classroom resources, organize learning materials, set up activities, and support classroom displays.* Record pupil activities, observations, and relevant classroom information as requested by the teacher.* Build positive relationships with pupils through patience, encouragement, respectful communication, and consistent support.* Supervise pupils during break times, transitions, school trips, specialist lessons, and other school activities.* Promote positive behaviour by acting as a calm role model and applying school behaviour expectations consistently.* Work closely with the class teacher to support lesson preparation, classroom routines, and pupil progress.* Report any concerns about pupils learning, wellbeing, behaviour, or safety to the class teacher promptly.* Maintain confidentiality in relation to pupils, families, staff, and school matters at all times.* Contribute to a welcoming classroom atmosphere where children feel supported, included, and motivated.* Seek guidance, feedback, and training opportunities to improve classroom support skills and professional confidence.* Remain flexible and willing to assist with wider school community activities when required.* Follow safeguarding expectations, school policies, child protection procedures, and UAE education standards.
