Operational Specialist

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Operational Specialist role based in Erbil. The Operational Specialist will coordinate daily freight operations across sea, air, and road shipments, ensuring documentation, bookings, and schedules are accurate and compliant.

The role involves managing shipment files from booking to delivery, liaising with carriers, agents, and customs brokers, and tracking cargo to ensure timely movement. The specialist will communicate with clients on shipment status, handle inquiries and operational issues, and support tailored logistics solutions based on customer needs.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining data in internal systems, assisting with rate requests and quotations, and collaborating with sales and management to improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Strong Analytical Skills to review shipment data, resolve operational issues, and optimize routing and costs.
• Effective Communication skills for clear coordination with clients, carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams.
• Sales aptitude to support quotation preparation, upsell logistics solutions, and contribute to customer retention.
• Operations Management experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain, with a focus on end-to-end shipment handling.
• Project Management skills to coordinate multiple shipments, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Knowledge of international shipping, Incoterms, and customs procedures is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office and logistics or freight management systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work on-site in Erbil, manage time effectively, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
