Director of Enrollment

A growing behavioral healthcare organization is seeking a Director of Credentialing and Payer Enrollment to lead and scale our credentialing and payor enrollment operations for W-2 clinicians across multiple states.

This leadership role ensures timely, compliant, and efficient processes across the entire credentialing and recredentialing lifecycle, including managing delegated credentialing and supporting comprehensive audits.

The ideal candidate will develop and maintain robust policies aligned with NCQA, CMS, and state guidelines, monitor regulatory changes, and collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams (including recruiting, clinical operations, legal, and finance) to optimize clinician onboarding.

Additionally, you will build and maintain data systems for tracking and reporting, and serve as the primary representative for credentialing in cross-functional and payer-facing meetings.

This role is Hybrid in Salt Lake City, Utah. Only local candidates will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Operations Leadership: Lead, scale, and optimize multi-state credentialing and payer enrollment workflows for W-2 clinicians.
• Compliance & Policy: Develop, maintain, and enforce policies aligned with NCQA, CMS, and state guidelines; closely monitor and adapt to regulatory changes.
• Delegated Credentialing: Oversee delegated credentialing processes and maintain readiness for external audits.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with recruitment, clinical operations, legal, and finance teams to streamline and accelerate the clinician onboarding lifecycle.
• Data & Systems Management: Build, maintain, and utilize data systems for accurate tracking, reporting, and technology-driven process improvements.
• Payer Relations: Represent the organization’s credentialing operations in key internal and payer-facing meetings.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required;
• CPCS (Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist) or CPMSM (Certified Professional Medical Services Management) certification is highly preferred.
• Experience: 7+ years of healthcare credentialing experience, with at least 3+ years in a dedicated leadership or management role.
• Specialized Knowledge: Strong, demonstrated expertise in behavioral/mental health credentialing and insurance provider enrollment.
