Responsibilities
- Create accurate and detailed patterns for couture garments based on design sketches, technical drawings, and measurements.
- Interpret designers' visions and translate them into patterns, ensuring the garment's fit and style are executed to the highest standard.
- Modify and adjust patterns as needed during the fitting process to achieve the perfect fit and silhouette.
- Apply advanced pattern cutting techniques, including draping and moulage to develop bespoke patterns.
- Work with a variety of luxurious fabrics, understanding their properties and how they affect garment construction.
- Ensure patterns accommodate the intricate details and embellishments typical of couture designs.
- Collaborate closely with designers, providing input on the practicality and feasibility of designs from a technical perspective.
- Participate in fittings, offering technical expertise and making on-the-spot adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain high standards of precision and craftsmanship in all pattern work.
- Check all patterns for accuracy, including measurements, notches, and seam allowances.
- Ensure that all pattern pieces are properly marked and labelled for easy identification during the construction process.
