Hourly Rate: $11.50 + Tips p/hour

Reports To: MOD and General Manager

Position Summary

The Server/Cashier provides every guest with friendly, accurate, and efficient service from start to finish. This role supports both front-of-house service and cashier responsibilities, including greeting guests, taking orders, processing payments, delivering food and beverage items, maintaining guest areas, and creating a positive Sushi Maki experience.

A successful Server/Cashier is hospitality-focused, reliable, team-oriented, and able to work quickly in a busy restaurant environment.

Primary Responsibilities

Greet guests and provide friendly, prompt, and professional service.

Take guest orders accurately and enter them into the system.

Process cash, credit card, and other payment transactions correctly.

Offer menu items, specials, and current promotions.

Deliver food and beverage items accurately to guests and tables.

Maintain cleanliness in guest areas, cashier station, dining room, and service areas.

Prepare beverages and select food items according to recipe and company standards.

Learn menu items, ingredients, promotions, and basic food safety practices.

Build guest rapport by recognizing regular guests and understanding their preferences.

Follow Sushi Maki food safety, sanitation, and service standards.

Support team members and assist with other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma preferred
• Previous restaurant, cashier, or guest service experience preferred, but not required
• Cash handling capability required
• Knowledge of health, sanitation, and food safety practices preferred
• Ability to work flexible restaurant hours, including weekends and holidays as needed

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to move quickly in a restaurant environment
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and use all limbs safely
• Ability to lift and move moderate loads up to 50 pounds
• Ability to see at close and long distances
