Write and edit technically oriented documentation for the Component Test & Analysis Division (ECL) of the Environmental & Component Test Directorate (ECTD), Redstone Test Center (RTC).
Apply knowledge of test procedures, military standards (MIL-STDs), military specifications (MIL- SPECs), military performance specifications (MIL-PRFs), etc. as well as aerospace and other relevant standards in order to produce technically oriented documentation that meets technical writing principles, and Army Test & Evaluation Command (ATEC) and Redstone Test Center (RTC) standards
Plan, develop, organize, write, and edit work instructions/procedures; participate in audits of Component Test & Analysis Division (ECL) operations, and otherwise assist engineers in capturing ECL's detailed procedures for operations
Assist in writing test plans, test reports, requirements, and supporting documents to communicate complex, technical information
Verify completeness of test data
Compile test data, information, and results into test reports
Collaborate with and assist teams of engineers and technicians in product anddocumentation requirements by quickly grasping complex technical concepts and translating them into readily understandable narrative and illustrations.
Assist material failure/material analysis engineers and technicians in producing Quality Deficiency Report (QDR) documentation
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or related disciplines from an accredited college or university
Two to five years' experience in technical writing
Weapon system test and evaluation experience
Experience routinely interacting with engineers (other than in the computer software realm)
Quality control or quality assurance experience
Mechanical engineering education
