General Description
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Freight Specialist to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be the driving force behind efficient freight operations, ensuring seamless coordination between carriers, clients, and internal teams.
Your expertise in supply chain management and transportation logistics will help optimize shipping processes, improve customer satisfaction, and support the overall success of our logistics network. Essential Job Functions
- Works with the Freight Dept, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to support order fulfillment.
- Daily management of the freight inbox.
- Ensure that all logistics for customer order needs are met including LTL, FTL, and partial shipments.
- Execute shipment quoting and tendering within the TMS portal for LTL carriers.
- Works with 3P on FTL booking and execution of shipment.
- Responsible for communicating any delays or disruptions for the carriers that impact customer delivery.
- Assist with customer complaints related to freight including investigation and resolution.
- Responsible for claims filing and resolution.
- Assist with freight audit quote to invoice to resolve those invoices which are outside tolerance.
- Additional support as required for parcel, intermodal, rail, and import/export shipments.
- Partners with the customer service team meet and exceed customers’ service expectations. Assists with quotes for new lanes and logistics solutions.
- Review month end closing of freight including GL code accuracy.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement.
- All other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
Required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Organized
- Ability to do Bill of lading and other shipping documentation including commercial invoice, shipper’s level instructions, and other required for international movements.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
Preferred
- At least 3 years of work experience in Transportation/Logistics
- Sage 50/100 experience
- Experience working with TMS
- IATA, IMDG, and DOT 49 CFR
- Certified in Logistics Transportation and Distribution (CLTD)
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
