Safety Affairs Specialist required for Chemical ManufacturerSafety Affairs SpecialistGreater Yakima, WAWe're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Affairs Specialist to support environmental, health, and safety initiatives within a manufacturing environment. In this role, you'll help ensure regulatory compliance, drive safety programs, and support a strong culture of workplace safety.
The Safety Affairs Specialist will have the following responsibilities:
- Support EH&S compliance with OSHA, EPA, and internal regulations through documentation and recordkeeping
- Conduct routine safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance
- Track corrective actions and ensure timely resolution of identified issues
- Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and root cause analysis
- Maintain EH&S systems and databases for incidents, training, and inspections
- Coordinate and support safety training programs and onboarding initiatives
- Develop and distribute safety communications including bulletins and awareness materials
- Monitor PPE inventory and ensure proper usage across departments
- Support safety audits, inspections, and continuous improvement activities
- Compile and report safety metrics, dashboards, and compliance data
- Partner with cross-functional teams to promote a strong safety culture
- Ensure adherence to company policies, ISO standards, and EH&S procedures
- The ideal Safety Affairs Specialist candidate will have the following skillset:
- Associate's degree in EH&S, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (or relevant certification + experience)0-1 years of EH&S, safety, or environmental experience
- Working knowledge of OSHA/EPA guidelines preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or on a team
