Logistics Coordinator

Fastenal is seeking proactive and detail-oriented individuals to join its supply chain operations. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be an integral part of the team, supporting inventory management, sourcing, and procurement functions that enable smooth business-to-business operations.

Role and Responsibilities

In this position, you will assist with the coordination of inventory and purchasing processes to ensure efficient branch operations and excellent customer support. Primary duties include:

• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels within the branch.
• Handle procurement activities, including managing purchase orders and resolving backorders.
• Prepare product quotes, determine pricing, and source materials from reliable suppliers.
• Coordinate resources to effectively meet customer supply chain demands.
• Provide assistance with accounts receivable and related administrative responsibilities.
• Operate company vehicles to complete deliveries as required.
• Perform other related duties to ensure branch efficiency and success.

Required Skills and Experience

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Hold a valid driver’s license and meet company driving qualifications.
• Pursuing or holding a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales, or a related discipline; or possess customer service or industry-related experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficient in computer usage and related software tools.
• Highly self-motivated, organized, and customer-focused.
• Strong mathematical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to work with a sense of urgency.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
• Sound problem-solving and decision-making capabilities with effective reasoning skills.
• Commitment to Fastenal’s core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
• Ability to lift, carry, slide, and lower packages weighing 25–50 lbs., and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
• Successful completion of a drug screening (where applicable).
• Ability to pass background checks required by customers or contracts supported by this branch.

Compensation and Benefits

• Part-time position with a schedule of up to 28 hours per week.
• Competitive hourly pay ranging from $16 to $21.
