Distribution Coordinator

Fastenal is inviting motivated and detail-driven individuals to join its growing supply chain operations team. As a Distribution Coordinator, you will play an important role in supporting sourcing, procurement, and inventory management activities that ensure seamless business-to-business operations.

Role and Responsibilities

In this position, you will assist with daily inventory and purchasing processes to support smooth branch operations and deliver outstanding customer service. Key responsibilities include:

• Monitor and maintain accurate branch inventory levels.
• Carry out procurement tasks, including creating purchase orders and managing backorders.
• Prepare and review product quotes, determine pricing, and identify trustworthy suppliers.
• Coordinate resources to effectively meet customer supply chain needs.
• Provide assistance with accounts receivable functions and related administrative duties.
• Operate company vehicles to complete deliveries when required.
• Perform other duties as needed to support branch operations and success.

Required Skills and Experience

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Hold a valid driver’s license and meet company driving requirements.
• Currently pursuing or holding a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales, or a related field; or have relevant customer service or industry-related experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with computers and standard business software tools.
• Highly self-motivated, organized, and committed to providing excellent customer support.
• Strong mathematical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to perform tasks with urgency.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization abilities.
• Effective reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated alignment with Fastenal’s values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move packages weighing 25–50 lbs., and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
• Successful completion of a drug screening (where applicable).
• Ability to pass background checks required by customers or contracts supported by this location.

Compensation and Benefits

• Part-time role with a schedule of up to 28 hours per week.
• Hourly wage range between $16 and $21.
• 401(k) retirement plan with company contribution.
