Supply Chain Associate

Company Overview

Fastenal is seeking motivated, detail-oriented individuals to join our supply chain operations. As a Part-time Supply Chain Associate, you will play a key role in managing inventory, procurement, and sourcing functions to support business-to-business operations and ensure customer success.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Supply Chain Associate, you will support the smooth operation of inventory and procurement processes while coordinating resources to meet customer needs. Key responsibilities include:

• Manage branch inventory levels
• Administer procurement functions, including purchase orders and backorder management
• Estimate/quote prices and source products
• Coordinate resources to respond to customer supply chain needs
• Support accounts receivable activities
• Make deliveries with a company vehicle as needed
• Perform other duties to support branch success

Required Skills and Experience

• 18 years of age or older
• Current valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements
• Possess or be working towards a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales, or a related field OR have customer service or industry-related work experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented
• Strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and sense of urgency
• Strong organization, planning, and prioritization abilities
• Problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills
• Demonstrate Fastenal’s core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork
• Lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 lbs, up to 75 lbs
• Pass required drug screening (where applicable)
• Pass a background check required by customer/contract serviced by this location

Fastenal's School of Business provides on-the-job, online, instructor-led, classroom, and virtual trainings designed to maximize your potential. You will gain the knowledge, skills, and strategies to excel in your role and grow within the company.

Compensation and Benefits

• Part-time schedule up to 28 hours per week
• Pay range: $16/hr - $21/hr
• 401(k) plan with employer contribution
• Opportunity for flexible scheduling after onboarding and training
