Logistics Account Manager

Grane Logistics Express (GLX), the logistics division of Grane Transportation, is looking for dynamic and enthusiastic Logistics Account Manager to join our 3PL team. Grane Transportation is a privately held family company that has been in business for over 100 years and is actively expanding the 3PL/GLX division.

As an account manager, your primary responsibility will be to generate revenue by covering freight through our established carrier base and working as a critical part of our business development team. The position also includes customer relations, driver management, and performance reporting.

Responsibilities

• Work with customers, carrier reps, and operations to manage the transportation of goods.
• Effectively work in a team environment.
• Communicate with drivers to ensure timely pick-up and delivery of goods for our customers.
• Provide information to Operations Manager on failures, problems, and opportunities.
• Learn and master software programs like DAT, Internet Truckstop, RYDER and McLeod.
• Book loads daily and update customers of freight arrival and departure.
• Negotiate rates with independent drivers, contracted carriers, and customers.
• Ensure all trucks and shipments are compliant with DOT and FMCSA regulations.

Requirements and Skills

• Associates Degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Preferred 1 year of previous transportation experience.
• Proficiency Microsoft Office (all programs).
• Ability to learn new software programs and portals easily.
• Have a “get it done" attitude.
• Strong mathematical and communication skills needed.
• High degree of creativity, intuition, and street smarts.
• Desire to succeed and highly competitive.
• Ability to think quickly and respond positively under pressure.
• Be self-motivated.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills and time management skills.
