The HR/PR Specialist will assist with weekly payroll processing and performing a wide range of Human resources tasks such as; Benefits administration, onboarding, managing leaves and crafting HR policies. This position will act as the main point of contact for employee queries on HR related topics. This position should have a vast knowledge of payroll processes and Federal, State and Local regulations.
- Administer compensation and benefit plans.
- Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes.
- Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training and development initiatives.
- Provide support to employees in various HR related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Assist in Development and implementation of Human Resources and Payroll policies.
- Coordinate timekeeping HRIS and payroll systems.
- Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics.
- Organize annual employee performance reviews.
- Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
- Ensure compliance with relevant labor laws, internal policies, and union contracts.
- Calculate and process weekly payroll.
- Input and maintain all data in payroll system software including but not limited to garnishments, withholding orders, PTO, insurance, and 401K deductions.
- Verify timekeeping records and consult with employees and their managers about any missing information or discrepancies.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned to meet business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Proven experience as a payroll manager, HR Generalist, or similar role.
- Minimum of five (5) years payroll processing experience required.
- Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related employment/labor laws.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (creating tables & formulas, pivot tables and V lookup.
- Strong Attention to detail and accuracy required, analytical mind and excellent math skills.
- Ability to work independently in a time sensitive environment with strict deadlines.
- Outstanding communications skills both oral and written.
- BS/BA Business Administration, Accounting or HR preferred by not required.
Or CPP, CPM is a plus.
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Aptitude for problem solving.
- Familiarity with payroll software/HRIS e.g.: SAP, ADP, PAYCOM, or KRONOS
- Additional HR/PR training or certification will be a plus.
