PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Financial Controller on a Direct Hire basis. This position is based out of Yuma, AZ.
Summary
We are seeking a versatile Financial Controller to oversee and execute a range of financial, operational, and administrative functions within our growing company. In this hands-on role, you will manage key financial processes, support strategic planning, and handle diverse operational tasks that ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end financial operations, including payroll, budgeting, forecasting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Partner with ownership to set and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and business goals, adapting plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.
- Prepare tax documents and maintain regular financial reporting on daily, weekly, and monthly bases.
- Provide strategic and operational insights, proactively identifying and addressing financial and business opportunities or risks.
- Oversee reconciliation of invoices, daily deposits, and credit card transactions, addressing any discrepancies and resolving issues.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on business objectives and implementation of strategies.
- Maintain operational reports relevant to the business, such as sales, inventory, and promotional metrics, providing analysis to inform decision-making.
- Assist with vendor management, inventory tracking, and purchasing functions to support daily operations.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of experience in back-office accounting & financial operations, preferably in a retail or small business environment where adaptability is essential.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, with the ability to learn new financial and reporting tools quickly. Should be tech savvy with experience in accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Strong GAAP accounting knowledge and experience handling month-end as well as year-end close.
- Hands-on experience owning and analyzing P&L statements, including budget development and forecasting.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and multitasking ability, comfortable managing varied tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
- Experience with HR, compliance, and onboarding tasks.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related is highly preferred.
